USB 3.0 :o
Personally I don't see the point of buying the MBP when it's updated if it doesn't have USB 3. Why only go half way? Like Core2Duo, USB 2 is outdated and USB 3 has been out on the PC market for some time, and as a power user it'll mean a lot to me in the future. So I wouldn't buy into this new generation of CPUs if it doesn't have the new generation of portable storage controllers.
If Apple announce i7 with USB 3 next week I'll be the first in line. If not, I'll wait 6 months for the next refresh. Seems to make sense compared to being stuck with USB2 for years to come, just like C2D now.
It's not like there's a ton of USB 3 peripherals on the market yet. I could see Apple waiting till the next update on this one.
To call USB 2 "outdated" is kind of ridiculous. A few people have put it on a few computers and there are some peripherals out there. 98% of USB peripherals are still USB 2. Hardly outdated.

I use an ancient Handspring Visor to read ebooks and random articles I find online. The notes feature on the iPod is useless to me because it's too small. If Apple makes a decent e-reader for a big-screen iPod, it means one less thing I have to carry around with me on the train.

read this somewhere- not sure if it has been posted here yet. Seems like the MBP at the end of the banner has a different (thinner) speaker design than both the current MBP 15' & 17'
Here are some images of the banner, MBP 15 & 17
Nevermind this links shows it was just a perspective issue.

I really don't see any MB or MBP updates. Again, I could be off, but I don't see those until later this year.
I'm sure the C2D chips coming out on all sorts of Windows laptops may be putting some pressure on Apple to update their laptop line, but I think it's still too soon.
It might be too soon for you, but Apple will lose sales if they stick with yonah.

I don't know if you like Firefight mode, but they have matchmaking available for that. That way, you aren't competing against other people, so you shouldn't feel too outclassed. And since the max players for that is 4, it finds matches super quick. Maybe give that a shot and see how it goes.
I am still working my way through the single player on legendary but once I am done I'll check out the firefight mode. I really liked a similar mode in Gears of War so I could see myself getting into that.

Toys R Us have been a retailer since day 1. There is no broadening here. And using multiple retail outlets means that Apple is not limited in the territories it covers with its own store chain. That is why since day 1, multiple retail chains have carried the iPad 2.
Well aware of the other outlets, but not Toys R Us. So why is this story presented as news?

I don't know how to include a screenshot in here but can anyone explain what the item in the Preferences > Advanced > General is that says:
'Allow iTunes control from remote speakers'
Also, while looking for iTunes7 I read that v 6.0.5 could send audio to more than one set of remote speakers simultaneously. How do you do that?

Why would anyone think there would be an iPhone 5 announcement there?Exactly!
To offer hardware at the same time as WWDC mixes the message to developers and (mostly) to the world at large -- unless, UNLESS it deals with something that developers need to know -- the iPhone 4 was announced during WWDC 2010 for one BIG REASON --> Retina Display.
This was a big deal. It meant that all iPhone apps' graphics would need to be adjusted in order to take advantage of the additional resolution in order to look great. Apple announced the iPhone 4 so that all the iPhone App developers there and elsewhere would know to get busy on updating their apps and pronto!
Apple wants the world to focus on the Software — right now, there is big debate raging over Apple software VS Google software and Apple wants to keep the focus on how they're better in the software arena.
The problem is Steve couldn't control himself last year and confused the newer people by talking about the iPhone.
If indeed they keep it on topic this year, there will be no talk or time wasted on hardware. We only have one WWDC each year, hopefully this year Jobs will control himself.U R Full of (a) Crap (b) Hot Air (c) It... Take your pick. Steve announced the iPhone because of the Retina Display and to finally put the GIZMODO thing to rest. Why do people like you try to be so Anti-Apple/Steve. This used to be OUR boards. And the goons took over.

"It takes forever. By the time you've gone through all that, the girl's got up and left! You're much better off to take one of your earbuds out and put it in her ear. Then you're connected with about two feet of headphone cable"
Stevie has a valid point. I might have to try that :D

I just upgraded to CS5 a few months ago for $600. The 5.5 upgrade would cost another $400. Adobe is easily my least favorite company in the world.
Just like an iPhone, you really want to get it at (or soon after) release to get the max "value" before it gets superseded!

Surely Hard Drive players are on the way out in general? Must be a major reason for the devices to break.
I wonder what breaks more often, the hard drives fitted in the classic or the fragile touch screens of the iPod touch?

Does anyone know the answer to this?
There's precious little details on what the actual exploit is, so no.. I don't think anyone here knows, yet.

It's called a World Wide Developers Conference for a reason. It's not New Apple Hardware Announcements Conference. Get over it.
Wait a Second! "Apple Hardware Announcements Conference". Brilliant Apple can charge $1500 for people to come and watch Apple announce new hardware. Of course at that cost the hardware they announce would not be included.
Some how I doubt that many people would pay that much.

I started to see problems with battery after 4.3 update. done a bit of research, ping trick didn't work for me. but restart did. the truth is that i'm not running 20 apps as i used to and cut down to roughly half.
but this update seems to be ok with battery so far. been on 62% for last 3 hours, been browsing and tweeting a bit.

They appear to be bundling in the AppleCare. Cant buy without it.
That just seems wrong. Something looks fishy here. Do you know if it was just that location?

Looks like nothing has changed but the processor. Gentlemen, commence your bitching.
You got that right. lol
However, due to the almost lack of changes in the MBP, why would the MB get any serious changes other than processor and memory bumps?

You can do some amazing things with the iPhone 4 camera and photog apps. I'm considering ditching my point and shoot Canon, though zoom technology really isn't there yet for me to be able to do that, I must admit. More megapixels is fine, but let's see some implementation of a proper zoom.

Does anyone know if that 200Gb Hard Drive will fit in the original macbooks? I have Final Cut Studio but there's just not enough room to run in on my Macbook now.
