This almost requires that iCloud be a free service for iOS users. A back up is prudent for any OS upgrade so having all or nearly all of your phone's personal data backed up or exclusively stored in the cloud would be a system that would allow iOS devices not have to rely on an iTunes direct link.
This also means that iTunes is going to be outdated and useless soon...at least for those of us with iOS devices :)

Just a heads up, Best Buy got into a bit of trouble for holding inventory and were told by apple to sell ipads if were in stock. Good luck finding any tomorrow....

Edit: is that a new black ipod (possibly video, maybe nano) right next to it?
Edit 2: the banner is not finished yet too, the macbook pro is only half done. maybe a more guarded part of wwdc. it looks like they can fit a bunch more stuff over at the edge. Edit 4: it looks like that edge is just a walkway. but who knows, maybe they could put stuff on it at the edge, above the walkway.
Edit 3: one of the ipods is on its side, maybe to hide the upcoming design.

what i Love about the iPod is that it is undefined, sure originally released as a music player but it truly has unlimited possibilities. I just wish Apple would speed things up.

It's nice to see someone with some perspective and isn't complaining daily because an update with speed increases that they'll never even notice...
Depending on the job these speed increases can be significant. I have some photoshop tasks that take 4-6 minutes/per image. A 20% speed increase is significant. For many people the bumb will not be noticable but they would like a 20% greater value compared to buying today. For others, speed and portability are the very reason for investing in one of these.

I personally do not like adobe one bit. I try to keep anything with the Adobe name off my computer. It's buggy, it doesn't look good, and photoshop is expensive. I don't care how powerful it is, I still hate the program. I would much rather use something else. But then again I'm not a photo editor so I don't know when I would need to use anything else.
Anyways, I'm happy Apple is keeping flash off the mobile browser because I don't want to see pop up ads, I don't want to see video on any website except youtube, and I don't want to deal with the endless parade of bugs that are sure to come with adobe putting flash in an already near perfect mobile web browser.

I would say that it's not a matter of being "licensed to act" as much as it's a recognition of your relationship to God and the rest of his creation. We don't need God's permission to act, that is what free will is all about. However, your understanding of how the world works and your motivation for action is either rooted in your faith in God or your faith in what is man made, which could include faith in religious tradition, or faith in principles/morals/ethics.
Basically, what we are talking about is an individual's worldview and how that worldview impacts their motivations in life.

Okay, all this talk about Vegas features made me go look at the website for it to see what it's like these days. I used to use it many years ago when I was a Windows user.
Looking at some of the screenshots actually made my gag reflex kick in. It almost made me retch. Wow, that interface is still as ugly as ever.

My 2 cents: The MacBook are definitely going to be updated this month. Most likely tomorrow. Why do I think this? AppleInsider has reliable sources, they have never completely been wrong. The MacBooks will get Core 2 Duos (1.83, 2.0, 2.16), 802.11n cards, and possibly hard drive & RAM increase. Realistically we won't be getting a dedicated graphics card, bigger screens, or firewire 800.

Just wanted to add my voice to those who are now experiencing success in getting their serial number through. Mine wasn't recognised earlier this afternoon, but worked fine just now. Patience is all I can advise really - the website gradually seems to be getting up to speed.
Re Cogsinister and others using deliberately altered serial numbers - shame on you. Such selfishness and thoughtlessness could greatly inconvenience the legitimate owners of the battery whose serial you used.

Now the question is when will the line start forming for the keynote this year?
Last year a few people were already standing in line the night before(I think around 9pm). My guess is if Steve is going to be part of the keynote this year people will be there even earlier.

Yeah i agree, no dedicated videocard. Its just not fesiable for the size/ price etc.
Anyhoo, I can see this update being VERY similar to the macbook pro one. Everyone was shocked with the iBook to Macbook transition, i dont think they will shock us again by suddenly adding a dedicated videocard to this lineup, or new form factor... or anything else you guys are 'hoping' for haha.
I can see a bigger HD wireless n and new processor. thats about it.
more RAM and standard DVD burner are mabyes...
haha and oh yeah, mabye a matte screen option.
As well, i agree w. some of the previous posts, no release tomorrow. Too much going on in the world haha. + i still think macbook pro's deserve some spotlight.
