Awesome! So this means I can use my Plextor 16x burner in the second optical bay? Or will that not work with an Apple?Didn't I tell you yes yesterday? Just buy a copy of Toast 7 for full support. You can also run multiple copioes of Taost 7 on one Mac. I run up to 4 or 5 simultaneously sometimes on my Quad G5 writing DVD Images to multiple HDs.

I just downloaded the update, it told me something failed and I need to restore my iPhone. I am on try 3 and it is still failing every time it tries to restore. It's giving me error code 1013. I would stay away from this update for at least a day or two until others give feedback. It doesn't seem to be that critical of an update anyways.
It's not bricked. You've been using TinyUmbrella, so it didn't allow the baseband to get updated. Fix your hosts file and it will be fine.

The wizards at Apple can't even make a mobile device that will run that load of crap. I hope that crap-ware never makes it into any IOS based products.
Then the "wizards" have a problem, because it runs fine on dual core android devices. If they can't even implement a "click to flash" scenario on the Cortex A9+SGX543MP, then they have serious programming problems.

If Apple had done this way back in the day, made their products readily available in stores, maybe they would have won the PC wars. I certainly remember the days when you could only get an Apple product via mail order, and you could never play with them in a store. Anytime you can get max products into max hands, its a good thing.

Actually, Apple wants websites to use open standards such as HTML, which is not Apples software. Flash is proprietary and is certainly not a free market. You should cut down on the caffeine.

I would guess that if they bump the iPhone's camera there is some other benefit since Apple generally doesn't play the specs game. Is 8MP enough for decent 1080p video?

Within months Logic Pro 8 came out and they simplified the GUI to be like GarageBand (and oh how all the "Pros" did moan...but only for awhile) and cut the price from $999 to $499. I jumped on it and never looked back.
Logic is the perfect comparison. Audio guys had the exact same reaction when Logic 8 and 9 first appeared - it seemed to look more like GB so they assumed it was a toy with features stripped out. In fact, it removed nothing and added quite a few features valuable to pros (and in later versions fixed a LOT of bugs). What's the old clich� about judging a book by its cover?

How very strange. I can not believe a store that sells telephones, MP3 players, Digital Cameras, video games, eReaders, GPS devices, TVs, dvd players, Apple iPods, laptops, and tablets would carry the Apple iPad.

Why take away the option now though? That makes no sense. And APPLE consumers are largely pro-sumers....at least thats who they market their products after.

The problem is that Wal-Mart is incapable of doing it. Look at how stunningly successful their 88 cents per song music store was (not). If Amazon's movie store sucks so bad (considering that Amazon must employ some pretty good computer programmers), what chance does Wal-Mart have of producing something that isn't a laughing stock. Good, competent programming/infrastracture building on the level of Apple is VERY hard. Google can (usually) do it. Not too many other companies can (certainly not Microsoft).

The product numbers are in sequence, which is common for products in the same family, and suggests that the numbers will be used as the replacement numbers for Apple's 3 MacBook models. All the stores (Walmart,Target, Best Buy) in Minot ND have Good stock of iPad 2's 3+ of each model in most cases and it has been that way for a week or 2 now.

It's amazing these things are so hard to find. The trickle makes it hard to believe an iPad 3 will ship this fall. If true, wouldn't Apple want to get iPad 2 out as fast as possible so the duration between iPad 2's & iPad 3's releases is longer rather than shorter? Meaning, it would seem to create more consumer frustration if such a slow trickle means one eventually gets an iPad 2 only to see a new one available a few months later.

I'm guessing on absoutely know actual knowledge that the new macbooks will appear either today (tuesday) or a week from today. Or the week after that. Or the week after that... :rolleyes:
